These terms cover buying a guide from hometownfieldguides.com, joining the waitlist, and using this website. By using this site, joining the waitlist, or buying a guide, you agree to these terms.
Age
You must be 18 or older to join the waitlist or buy a guide. This site and its products are for adults; they are not sold to or aimed at children.
Who you’re contracting with
Supertrained Inc., a Florida corporation, doing business as “Hometown Field Guides, by Garden with Lilly,” operates this site.

What you’re buying
Each guide is a downloadable PDF about helping monarch butterflies breed and grow in a specific city, plus a printable observation journal. As of this policy’s date, the Austin, Texas edition is available for $17, one-time, in US dollars. Other city editions may be added later, each priced separately.
A guide is a digital product. There’s no physical shipment.
Your license to use the guide
When you buy a guide, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:
- download and keep one copy of the PDF;
- print it and the journal pages for your own family’s use; and
- print and use it in one classroom you teach.
You may not resell the guide, post the PDF file online, share it outside your family or classroom, remove our branding, or use it to create a competing product. If you’d like to use a guide across more than one classroom or with a larger group, email hello@hometownfieldguides.com first; we’re glad to work something out.
Buying a guide
Checkout is run by Stripe. When you buy, you’re agreeing to Stripe’s terms for that transaction as well as ours. We don’t collect or store your card number.
Delivery
After you buy, you’ll get an instant download link on the thank-you page and by email. The link works for 30 days. If it expires, email hello@hometownfieldguides.com and we’ll send it again at no charge.
Refunds
We offer a full refund within 30 days of purchase, for any reason, on request. See our Refund Policy for how to ask.
The waitlist
If you leave your email and ZIP code, we’ll use them to let you know when a guide for your area is available, or to ask what you’d find useful. Joining the waitlist:
- is free and does not obligate you to buy anything;
- does not guarantee that we’ll make a guide for your city, or say when; and
- is not an account, a subscription, or a purchase.
You can leave the waitlist at any time using the link in any waitlist email, or by asking us.
After you buy
We may ask you an optional question about your purchase on the thank-you page. Answering is up to you and doesn’t change your order.

Safety information in the guide, including material about stinging caterpillars and milkweed sap, is general information only. We can’t guarantee that monarchs will lay eggs in your yard, that caterpillars will survive, or that any plant will grow the way the guide describes. Weather, predators, disease, and local conditions all affect real gardens, and we don’t control any of them.
Illustrations in the guide are made with AI assistance and reviewed by an expert before we publish.
Hometown Field Guides is not affiliated with, and is not endorsed or reviewed by, Monarch Watch, the University of Kansas, Journey North, Monarch Joint Venture, or Texas Parks and Wildlife. We cite public research from these and other organizations as sources; citing them does not mean they’ve approved our guide.
Using this site
Please don’t:
- submit someone else’s email address without their permission;
- misuse the waitlist form, checkout, or download links;
- try to interfere with or break the site; or
- send us passwords or account credentials for other services.
We can end your access to the site or the waitlist if you misuse it.
Ownership
The guides, this website, and their design and software are owned by Supertrained Inc. or its licensors, except for the license we grant you above.
No warranty
To the extent the law allows, this site and the guides are provided “as is” and “as available,” without a promise that they’ll be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose beyond what we describe here.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Supertrained Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or a guide, including a lost plant or a disappointing garden season.
If we’re liable anyway, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us for the guide in question. Some places don’t allow liability limits like this one; where that’s true, this limit applies only as far as the law allows.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any consumer-protection law that can’t be waived where you live. If a dispute needs to go to court, it will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Florida.

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
Changes to these terms
